Police clear tents from Occupy site in DC (AP)

February 4, 2012 in Syndicated Posts, Top Global News by rushabh

A U.S. Park Police officer removes a wooden structure from an Occupy DC protestor's tent at McPherson Square in Washington, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012. Park Police arrived before dawn to enforce a no camping law at the square near the White House, which demonstrators have occupied since last October, and enjoyed special First Amendment protections by virtue of the square's designation as park service property. The regulations permit protesters to remain onsite at all hours with tents, but bars them from camping or laying down bedding material.(AP Photo/Cliff Owen)AP - Dozens of U.S. Park Police officers in riot gear and on horseback converged before dawn Saturday on one of the nation's last remaining Occupy sites, with police clearing the grounds of tents that they said were banned under park rules.
