There was much talk about his look in the recently released film Agneepath, however Sanjay Dutt is in the news again, but this time for his uncanny dance moves. Post the success of Agneepath and Kancha's moves in the track 'Chikni Chameli', Dutt seems to be the most wanted item boy.
His upcoming film Zila Ghaziabad, which is being directed by Anand Kumar will feature Dutt grooving to a song composed by Bappi Lahiri's son Bappa titled 'Main Item No.1'.
Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Dutt will perform to the song along side South actress Shriya Saran. Though in the film Dutt's character is rugged, the makers have decided to include an item song with Sanjay in it.
As for the song, it will be shot in Kamalistan studio from February 5 - 8 and will be choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

Workers Union raid Zilla Ghaziabad sets

The troubles for producer Vinod Bachchan just don't seem to end. The producer, who was very recently admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with kidney stones, now had a run-in with the workers union. The workers union raided the sets of his film Zilla Ghaziabad for non-payment of dues.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Allied Mazdoor Union raided the sets of Zilla Ghaziabad at Film City for non payment to the workers for an outstanding amount of Rs. 3,63,000. The crew has been working without pay for the past three months and thus they complained to the Allied Mazdoor Union.
Reportedly, the Union forced Bachchan to pay 80 percent of the dues after which the crewmembers returned to the sets and got back to work.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Allied Mazdoor Union raided the sets of Zilla Ghaziabad at Film City for non payment to the workers for an outstanding amount of Rs. 3,63,000. The crew has been working without pay for the past three months and thus they complained to the Allied Mazdoor Union.

Bollywood to go on strike on Feb 23

The Film Federation of India (FFI) has proposed a nationwide strike of the film industry on February 23, to protest against the Central Government's proposal to levy service tax of nearly 10.3 percent on the film industry. The proposed tax would escalate the filmmaker's costs considerably and so they have decided to go on a strike.
The film associations across the country had a meeting in Chennai last month to discuss how to protest the proposed tax. For now they have planned to go on a strike for one day but if it doesn't work then they will go on an indefinite strike.
According to a circular sent by the convener of FFI's Service Tax Committee Ravi Kottarakara Rao, the film industry is already subjected to a lot of taxation burden and the imposition of an additional service tax will only add to it.
The film industry will suffer losses due to the strike but the members of the industry have decided to support it as the implementation of the service tax will affect small as well as big budget films really badly.

Veteran music arranger Anil Mohile passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday (Feb 1) after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. He was 71 years old.
Anil Mohile has been the music arranger for several Bollywood film such as Abhimaan, Don, Sharaabi etc. He was also part of several live musical concerts with legendary playback singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
Anil is survived by his wife, daughter and son Amar Mohile who is also a music composer.

RGV to make action film with Sanjay Dutt

The dreaded Kancha Cheena's role in Agneepath has done Sanjay Dutt a world of good. Even as he now pours his heart and soul into playing the plain-clothed encounter cop in Ram Gopal Varma's Department, Varma and Dutt sat together to plan the kind of film that Dutt has never done before.
An international espionage drama where Dutt will play an undercover agent out to crack a global crime syndicate.
The next Varma-Dutt film, we learn, is inspired by Steven Spielberg's take on global terrorism Munich.
Says a source very close to the project, "Ramu and Dutt have become very close during the making of Department. They were toying with various ideas on what to do next together. But nothing concrete was decided. Then after the release of Agneepath and the massive ovation given to Dutt's portrayal of the larger-than-life villain Kancha Cheena, Ramu thought, "If Dutt can play a larger-than-life villain so successfully why not a larger-than-life hero who saves the world from an international conspiracy?"
The role model for the film is Eric Bana in Munich. But not that cerebral. Dutt will pump up the iron to get into a sinewy shape to shoot for the espionage thriller.
Confirming the ambitious project, Ram Gopal Varma says, "Yes, Sanjay Dutt and I are doing another film right after Department. I truly believe he is our last action hero. So, I am going to cast him as a one-man army on a global mission. Munich is the film I've in mind. But it would be not just a cerebral thriller. I want Sanjay Dutt doing a lot of daring action. You see, in Department he plays a plain clothed cop who has to blend with the crowds. So there's little room for heroics. I want to pump up the action level dangerously in our next film. So it would be Munich meets Rambo."
Sanjay Dutt seems very excited about the film. "Yes, Ramu and I have discussed the project we're doing next .It's very exciting."
The film will go on the floors later this year.

Guess 'Ooh La La' may soon stake claim for being the newest anthem in the B-town. Last year it was the turn of Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah to first go 'ooh laa laa' for The Dirty Picture. Circa 2012 and it is none other than Ali Zafar who is presenting his own take on 'Ooh La La'.
"For his upcoming film London Paris New York where he has composed, written and sung all the songs, there is one that goes by the title 'Ooh La La'", informs a source, "It is an entirely different song though with just the key words being similar. While Vishal-Shekhar had given a fun flavour to 'Ooh La La' which was presented as a 80s song, Ali's song is very contemporary. The song has been very interestingly collaborated as it sees the coming together of trance and underground house with a mix of sufi and pop. It would be an unforgettable affair for sure."
Incidentally, this isn't the only USP of 'Ooh La La'. The song is also special since it brings two female vocalists from Pakistan - Hadiqa Kiyani and Sanam Marvi.
"Though there have been quite a few male singers from Pakistan who have found popularity in Hindi film music or pop circuit, there haven't been many female singers who have made a cut in Bollywood. However, Ali plans to change that with 'Ooh La La' by bringing Hadiqa Kiyani and Sanam Marvi. They are very popular singers out there in Pakistan and come with a very good training background. Both of them have collaborated on 'Ooh La La' where some parts have also been sung by Ali", the source continues.
When contacted, Ali couldn't shy away from the irony of the situation. He said, "You know what, I had actually put together this song much before 'Ooh La La' from The Dirty Picture started making waves. In any case our song is totally different. It is set in Paris and is basically on the lines of 'Ooh La La', the commonly used phrase in Paris. When you would hear the song, you would realise that it has its own identity."
We for sure would want to hear that.
