After a tumultuous day of muck-flying and titanic tweeting, battle-scarred party-bashers Shah Rukh Khan and Shirish Kunder called it a truce on Tuesday afternoon, courtesy Shirish's brother-in-law Sajid Khan and Shah Rukh's wife Gauri Khan.
Apparently, Sajid and Gauri called for a meeting at Shah Rukh Khan's residence Mannat between the two warring parties. Over a hot meal and cool discussion, the acrimony was wiped clean.
Shah Rukh and Shirish have decided to start their rapport all over again. Confirming the reconciliation at Mannat, Sajid Khan said, "Yes, I felt terrible about the ugly turn that the whole affair took. Shah Rukh and Shirish had a fight, agreed. But the media didn't have to play it up to the point of making it on the front of national newspapers."
Getting sentimental, Sajid Khan says, "Do you know when my sister Farah and Shirish got married, there were only three witnesses. Me, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shah Rukh. We're family and there are bound to be differences between family members. Yes, Gauri and I took the initiative. All of us met at Mannat over a meal. And it was all sorted out."
Adds Farah Khan, "I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am. This had turned really ugly. And before it got uglier, my brother took matters into his hands. Full credit to Gauri for making the reconciliation happen. When my brother asked her where we should meet she said Mannat because she said it's Farah's home. I am so moved."
Farah says this is not only the end of the ugly spat between her husband and Shah Rukh, it is also a new beginning for her and Shah Rukh. "I really liked what he said. He made us promise to wipe out all the bitterness of the last two years and start afresh. I feel like a big burden is off my back."
All is well that ends well.

Sanjay Dutt's fondness for Ranbir Kapoor is commonly known in the film industry. In fact as this is being written, at least three major filmmakers have been given the responsibility to devise a Dutt-Ranbir project to be produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions.
But Ranbir's dad Rishi Kapoor and Dutt were until recently, at the most polite acquaintances. In fact the last film they had done together was Sahibaan 18 years ago. Now while working together in Agneepath, the two actors seem to have discovered a mutual fund of fondness.
Just how much the emotional Dutt appreciates his new friendship was evident when on Saturday night he simply walked into Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's Pali Hill residence with his wife Maanyata and a bottle of wine for a celebration of their mutual success in Agneepath.
The on-the-spot party went on till the wee hours of Sunday morning with some of Rishi's close friends joining in. At some point during the evening Ranbir also joined his Dad and mentor Dutt, though we hear, he desisted from drinking in front of the seniors.
The Dutts left only after extending an invitation to the Kapoors to join the Dutts at their party on Sunday evening.
Says a source, "Sanjay, Rishi and their two wives had themselves a ball on Saturday night at the Kapoors' residence. Though Rishi likes to get to sleep by 10.30-11 pm, he was up with the Dutts till almost morning. Though Rishi and Sanjay both play arch-villains in Agneepath there is no sense of competition between them. They are baddies who are buddies."
When we contacted Rishi to confirm the impromptu party, he said, "On Saturday night Dalip Tahil who loved me in Agneepath came home. A few of my friends were already here. And lo and behold! In walks Sanju and Maanyata for an impromptu celebration. It was very sweet of him. We were two villains rejoicing our villainy together."
Incidentally, Saturday night also saw Hrithik Roshan hosting a party to celebrate the success of Agneepath.

Indian film industry to shut down on 23rd Feb in protest against Service Tax!

The Film Federation of India (FFI), the apex body of the film industry of India has proposed a nationwide shut down of the industry on 23rd February, 2012, in protest against bringing the film industry and trade under the purview of the Service Tax by the Government of India.
